Over the span of nearly 7 years and over 2 million copies of Wingspan sold, people have applied their creativity to the game in a variety of ways. Meanwhile, thousands of people have requested their favorite birds missing from the game/expansions.
Stonemaier Games reached out to Wingspan designer Elizabeth Hargrave and fan creation coordinator Travis Willse to run an idea by them: In collaboration with the fan designers, what if we officially vetted and printed some of the fan-designed birds?
